MOODY'S rating analysts say heavy AI investment could weaken credit metrics at
US hyperscale cloud providers, though large capital buffers should mitigate some
pressure. With capex rising faster than operating cash flow, hyperscalers' free
cash flow is forecast to fall in 2026-27. Increased bond issuance by Meta,
Alphabet and ORACLE is likely to add leverage pressure. Still, substantial cash
reserves plus revenue and EBITDA growth should allow these firms to absorb 12–24
months of elevated capex without materially impairing credit quality.
