Ireland’s minister of state for international cooperation called on European
governments to present a unified response to a recent Israeli escalation in the
West Bank, saying Ireland recognises Palestine as a state and supports a
two‑state solution. She urged tougher sanctions on individuals involved in
settlement construction and on goods from settlements, and said Ireland will
host a meeting next week to discuss the West Bank occupation. Ireland is
coordinating with Spain and other countries to expand sanctions on Israel.
