Baltic Dry Index (BDI) rose 79 pts (2.5%) to 3,186 on Friday, the highest since June 2, leaving the index up 12.1% week-to-date. The capesize index (BCI) gained 198 pts (3.9%) to 5,336, also its strongest since June 2, and is up 17.2% on the week; capesize daily earnings rose $1,798 to $44,896. The panamax index (BPI) increased 23 pts (1.0%) to 2,315, its highest since June 2, but is down 10.1% over the week; panamax daily earnings rose $202 to $20,834. The supramax index (BSI) ticked up 2 pts (0.1%) to 1,647, up 0.4% week-to-date.
