The Ministry of Emergency Management said it dispatched "Yuyan Emergency"
reconnaissance and heavy-lift drones to continuously monitor the Puzhepqiang
Cangbu barrier lake in Gyirong (Jilong) County, Shigatse, Tibet, and to assist
local rescue operations. On the evening of Aug. 29 a forward-monitoring drone
detected a landslide 2.8 km downstream that created a new dam body and is
forming a new barrier lake. The ministry convened experts for assessment and has
moved rescue personnel near Gyirong port to safety.
