Juneyao Airlines reported 1H operating revenue of 12.081 bln yuan, up 9.16% YoY; net profit attributable to shareholders 150 mln yuan, down 70.27% YoY; basic EPS 0.07 yuan. Performance was mainly hit by a sharp YoY rise in jet fuel prices driven by changes in international energy markets, which materially increased core operating costs and weighed on total profit, net profit attributable to shareholders and net profit excluding non-recurring items.

China Unicom said it activated an emergency base station 1.2 km from the Jilong border crossing at 13:30 on Aug. 30. The new site fills a frontier communications blind spot and is intended to provide stable connectivity for on-site rescue, road clearance, supply transport and frontline personnel. China Unicom enabled full-network emergency mode and 5G cross-network roaming to raise coverage, stability and resilience in the border area. The operator said mobile base stations will remain on standby, it will monitor road-clearance and disaster progress, and will continue optimizing border network quality to shore up emergency communications.

TIMIRAOS wrote KEVIN WARSH's remarks eased some market concerns about the Fed's anti-inflation strategy but set up a tougher test in three weeks. Two points in Warsh's speech point toward a possible September hike: he stopped short of calling current financial conditions restrictive, and summer's improvement in inflation did not convince him the trend is improving. Before Friday the Fed's default had been to hold unless data warranted action; former Fed vice chair Cohn said Warsh has flipped that logic — the default is now to raise unless incoming data show no need. Cohn said the decision will hinge on conditions before the September meeting, notably August CPI due Sept. 11; stronger data would weaken the case that inflation is returning to the Fed's 2% target and could prompt a hike, while softer data would argue against raising. A September hike could anger the White House if it comes weeks before the midterms; standing pat could reawaken the doubts Warsh sought to calm.
