President Trump on Sunday urged the Federal Communications Commission to investigate news outlets' use of opinion polls and to punish NBC anchor Kristen Welker, accusing media of using "fake polls" and calling on the FCC to act. Trump said he would report Welker to the FCC for what he described as deliberate distortion after she said his primary endorsements this year had mixed results. The FCC oversees broadcast licensing but does not regulate pollsters and lacks authority over cable or print media. Trump made the comments on social media.
