IMAX China summer box office surpassed 723 mln yuan through Aug 29, up 39% YoY, driven by strong supply of high-quality releases and concentrated consumer demand for premium viewing. Imported Odyssey posted 310 mln yuan in IMAX receipts and IMAX accounted for 54.6% of the film’s nationwide box office. Spider-Man’s first weekend IMAX takings exceeded 130 mln yuan, the best IMAX opening for a Hollywood release in the mainland since 2019. Domestic film Welcome to Long Restaurant, shot specially for IMAX, passed 700 mln yuan in box office five days after release.
