On the 31st, the three phase-one generating units at the Shuangjiangkou
hydropower station on the Dadu River in Aba Prefecture, Sichuan — site of the
world’s tallest dam — were fully commissioned. The national key energy project
has a 315m dam and 2 GW installed capacity. The plant will supply substantial
annual green power to the grid, easing regional electricity pressure while
providing flood-control and ecological benefits.
