Iran’s Mehr news agency said Iranian armed forces have prevented 30 vessels from transiting the Strait of Hormuz without permission since Aug. 22. Mehr said vessels may only transit via Iran-approved routes after coordinating with Iranian authorities and paying passage fees. Allegations of mine-clearance operations and claims about oil export volumes lack documentary evidence, Mehr added, and said the US has not provided proof, characterising such reporting as part of a US media campaign aimed at influencing global, particularly energy, markets.
