PICC vice president Cai Zhiwei told the insurer's 2026 interim results briefing that PICC's 2021 investment in ChangXin Memory Technologies delivered a return exceeding 20x, calculated using ChangXin's STAR Market IPO closing price on July 27, 2026. Cai said PICC will maintain a long-term investment approach and that its project pipeline already contains a number of high-quality assets expected to generate strong returns.

Chinese President Xi held talks with Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov in Bishkek on Aug. 31. Xi urged implementation of the governments’ economic and trade cooperation plan, expanding trade categories and developing digital trade and cross-border e-commerce. He called for high‑quality construction of the China‑Kyrgyzstan‑Uzbekistan railway and modernization of border ports, and deeper alignment of institutions, standards and rules to boost connectivity.
