Israel’s Hebrew-language television reported on Aug. 31 that Mossad drew up a secret plan called Puss in Boots aimed at undermining the Iranian regime by backing Kurdish insurgents, opening infiltration routes into Iran and fomenting domestic protests. The plan, prepared after a 12-day war in mid‑last year, was ultimately halted following opposition from the U.S. government; parts had been disclosed earlier by the New York Times.
