American AI Build, backed by AI-industry billionaires, has launched a multi-mln-dollar advertising campaign to blunt rising US public opposition to new data centers. A survey found 61% of US adults oppose local data center construction; concerns cited include higher electricity prices, increased blackout risk and heavy water use. The group says curbs on data center investment would cost jobs and weaken US AI competitiveness.
