TASNIM NEWS: The commander of Iran’s air defense forces said Iran is designing and producing new indigenous air-defense systems and that projects are being converted into combat-capable systems. He said there are, to his knowledge, no known foreign equivalents; some domestic systems were deployed during a 40-day war and helped shoot down more than 200 enemy aircraft. He added a tactical advantage is opponents’ limited knowledge of the systems’ parameters, performance and employment.
