The Trump administration on Monday reached drug-pricing agreements with nine mid-sized pharmaceutical companies after pressing them to join a broader pricing framework, expanding a "most-favored-nation" program previously agreed with 17 large manufacturers. The firms — Alcon, Astellas Pharma, BeiGene, BridgeBio Pharma, CSL, Kyowa Kirin, Sun Pharmaceutical, Teva Pharmaceutical Industries and UCB — committed to at least $19.6 billion of near-term U.S. manufacturing investment, the White House said. Some companies also donated active pharmaceutical ingredients to the government’s strategic stockpile.
