Putin said Russia welcomed a memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States, but regretted the ceasefire had proven fragile.

Iran foreign ministry spokesman Baghaei said Iran will mobilize all battlefield and diplomatic resources to defend the nation’s rights. Responding to a question on talks with the US, he said the ministry will assess the situation based on national interests and follow the decisions of the competent authorities. He added that apparent inconsistency and vacillation in US statements will not deter Iran from fully employing its capabilities, and that Tehran will use diplomacy as necessary to clarify its position and to safeguard and realize Iran’s legitimate rights.
