At the morning close, China’s main futures contracts were mostly higher: ethylene glycol up about 8%, methanol up over 5%, bottle-grade PET chips up ~5%, para-xylene and polyester short fiber up over 4%, asphalt, PVC and benzene up over 3%. Lagging: container shipping (Europe) down ~6%, palladium and red dates down ~3%, Shanghai silver, live hogs and apples down over 2%, Shanghai gold down just over 1%.
