Russia's foreign ministry said on Sept. 1 it will respond after Germany said it
held Moscow responsible for an attempted drone attack near Leipzig airport in
early August and announced it would close the Russian consulate in Bonn on Sept.
18 and terminate the contract with the Berlin cultural centre "Russian House".
Germany also said it will tighten entry checks on Russian nationals and increase
pressure on the Russian "shadow fleet"; spokesperson Zakharova called the move a
fabricated pretext and said Berlin offered no convincing or conclusive evidence.
