Apple told the SEC that John Ternus’ fiscal‑2027 compensation package is valued
at about $58m; Tim Cook’s package as executive chairman is about $47m. The
filing, submitted on Ternus’ first day in the role, shows Ternus’ annual base
salary at $3m and a target stock award of $55m for 2027. In 2026 he will receive
pro‑rata RSUs worth roughly $2.5m. Seventy‑five percent of Ternus’ stock award
is tied to Apple’s performance versus S&P 500 constituent companies; the
remaining 25% are time‑based units that vest semiannually. Cook’s base salary
will fall from $3m to $2m and his 2027 target equity award is $45m, with only
half of his award performance‑tied to S&P 500 relative performance.
