The Taiwan Affairs Office said it will help more high-quality Taiwan
agricultural and fishery products enter the Chinese mainland. Spokesman Zhang
Han noted the office issued 10 cross-strait facilitation measures in April,
including eased entry for Taiwan agri-fishery goods that meet mainland
inspection and quarantine standards; China Customs recently published
registrations for additional Taiwan pomelo packing plants and orchards. The
office said it used signing events at the Straits Forum to connect the measures
and open mainland sales channels, and will work with island counterparts to
expand market access provided products meet mainland quarantine rules and
political preconditions tied to adherence to the 1992 Consensus and opposition
to Taiwan independence.
