South Korean equities plunged on Wednesday, with the KOSPI down 3.99% to 6,562.72 — its lowest close since Aug. 19 and the largest one-day drop in two weeks — as escalation in the U.S.-Iran conflict and a global bond sell-off lifted Korean government bond yields and dented risk appetite. Major caps fell: Samsung Electronics -4.02%, SK Hynix -4.73%, LG Energy Solution -5.31%, Hyundai Motor -5.62%, Kia -5.18%. Of 911 stocks, 139 advanced and 735 declined. Foreign investors were net sellers of KRW 1.9 tln of Korean equities.
