House Republicans are increasingly unhappy with Trump’s trade agenda and are
preparing to press the White House directly, Axios reports. With midterms
approaching, members singled out expanded duty-free beef imports and a potential
trade confrontation with Canada as threats to domestic industry and district
jobs. Trump hosted several Republican lawmakers at the White House Wednesday;
Iowa Rep. Zach Nunn said beef will be on the agenda, and Michigan Rep. Bill
Huizenga said he plans to raise the Canada issue.
