Russia deputy prime minister Novak said on Thursday oil output will fall slightly this year but the decline is temporary and production should rebound as domestic refineries complete planned maintenance. A draft government forecast, citing the Russia-Ukraine war, cuts this year’s oil production projection to a 17-year low and trims fuel export forecasts for 2026 and 2027. The draft lowers projected oil output for 2026–2029 by 16–20 million tonnes versus the May forecast.
