Germany's Ifo Institute forecasts inflation at 2.8% this year, 3.0% in 2027 and easing to 2.3% in 2028.

Preliminary data: total assets of China's financial institutions stood at 562.2 tln yuan at end-Q2 2026, up 7.7% YoY. Bank assets were 497.98 tln yuan, +6.6% YoY; securities firms 20.37 tln yuan, +29.8% YoY; insurers 43.86 tln yuan, +11.8% YoY. Total liabilities were 514.48 tln yuan, +7.9% YoY. Bank liabilities 458.37 tln yuan, +6.8% YoY; securities liabilities 16.32 tln yuan, +36.6% YoY; insurance liabilities 39.79 tln yuan, +12.2% YoY.

Kuwaiti military said its air-defence systems are responding to missile and drone attacks from Iran. It warned that any explosions heard would be from air-defence intercepts.
