RBNZ Governor Breman said the bank will gradually withdraw monetary stimulus in order to restore inflation to target while supporting growth and employment.

At a Sept. 3 regular briefing, a MOFCOM spokesperson urged the US to revoke sanctions on Chinese companies and citizens. China has repeatedly opposed unilateral sanctions lacking an international-law basis or UN Security Council authorization, the spokesperson said. Despite repeated Chinese representations, the US has sanctioned Chinese companies and citizens citing Iran; China expressed strong dissatisfaction and firmly opposes the measures. MOFCOM said the US actions improperly interfere with normal trade and have seriously disrupted global energy security and supply, and urged the US to correct the measures immediately. China said it will firmly defend the legitimate rights and interests of its companies and citizens.
