Economic Weekly reported Volkswagen plans to sell some or all of its equity stakes in roughly 750 companies it holds.

Chinese public funds' 2026 mid-year filings show FOFs holding large core positions in gold and broad-market ETFs such as CSI 300 and STAR 50. FOFs increased allocations in 1H to sector ETFs — notably telecoms, semiconductors, power-grid equipment and nonferrous metals — which were the primary sources of incremental exposure. The prevailing positioning pairs stable base allocations in gold, broad ETFs and fixed income with directional industry-ETF bets.

Sources said the Bank of Japan favors a 25bp policy-rate increase this month to counter upside inflation risks and will keep the pace of further hikes flexible depending on economic and price developments. Officials plan to discuss raising the rate and continue to view inflation risks as skewed to the upside; rising services prices and a persistently weak yen strengthen the case for action. Sources said current economic developments broadly match BOJ projections and that a 50bp move is unlikely, reducing market odds of a large hike.
