Shanxi Department of Natural Resources said at the Taiyuan 2026 Energy Low-Carbon Development Forum on Sept. 4 that during the 14th Five-Year Plan the province added 5638.38 hundred-million cubic metres (563.838 bln m3) of proven coalbed methane. Cumulative proven reserves now exceed 1 trillion cubic metres, the largest total in China.
