The Bank of Korea said Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix's domestic expansion plans are expected to further widen South Korea's lead in memory-chip production capacity. It projects new fabs coming online by 2028 will raise South Korea's monthly wafer capacity by about 600,000 wafers.
