China's Cyberspace Administration and six ministries issued the Implementation
Plan for Promoting Digital and Green Coordinated Transformation (2026–2030),
directing the application of virtual reality, artificial intelligence and other
digital-intelligent technologies to innovate consumption models and expand
supply of green smart products. Measures include promoting shared
mobility/space/goods, virtual home-decoration and virtual fitting rooms, and
developing Internet+ second-hand goods; increasing production and supply of AI
terminals, smart wearables, green appliances, green building materials and
new-energy vehicles; and supporting rural e-commerce and Internet-enabled
farm-to-city channels to raise green quality agricultural supply. The plan
mandates e-commerce platforms adopt reusable/recyclable packaging, promote
direct-from-origin parcel shipping and wider use of standardized reusable
circulation boxes, and calls for establishing green power-consumption
certification mechanisms.
