In a joint statement on Sept. 4, the Israel Defense Forces and Shin Bet said a
Sept. 2 precision strike in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, killed Muhammad Mahmoud
Marshad Qadi, a company-level commander in Hamas' elite "Nukhba" unit. The IDF
said Qadi recently led training and efforts to restore the group's operational
capability, accused him of systematically violating the ceasefire and advancing
attacks on Israeli forces and civilians, and said the strike was carried out to
eliminate that threat.
