At the 2026 Tiandu International Conference on Deep Space Exploration, China announced the launch of an international Earth–Moon CubeSat constellation science program. The plan envisages partnering with multiple countries to deploy a satellite swarm across Earth–Moon space to establish a 3D network for space-environment monitoring, gamma-ray burst detection and lunar resource prospecting. The preliminary timetable targets completion of all satellite launches and deployment around 2030, aiming to fill a global gap in systematic Earth–Moon-space observations.

Shanxi Department of Natural Resources said at the Taiyuan 2026 Energy Low-Carbon Development Forum on Sept. 4 that during the 14th Five-Year Plan the province added 5638.38 hundred-million cubic metres (563.838 bln m3) of proven coalbed methane. Cumulative proven reserves now exceed 1 trillion cubic metres, the largest total in China.
