Analyst Ben Casselman said in U.S. August nonfarm payrolls data the prime-age (25–54) labor force participation rate, after rising last year to a 20-year high, fell sharply in June. The initial drop looked like an outlier, but the absence of a rebound in July and August suggests the decline may be a real trend. The rate remains above pre-pandemic levels but is noticeably less strong than before.

Hong Kong autonomous-driving shares rallied after Tesla on Sept 3 (local) launched its Cybercab in Austin. Youjia Innovation (02431.HK) rose over 10%, Hesai‑W (02525.HK) rose over 8%, Pony.ai‑W (02026.HK) rose over 7%, Baidu (09888.HK) rose over 5% and RoboSense (02498.HK) rose about 4%. Tesla said the driverless Cybercab, operating without a steering wheel, pedals or mirrors, has entered service in Austin and is designed to deliver higher utilization and take on more travel demand.
