Trump posted on Truth Social that recent strong jobs data should have lifted
markets but long-standing "inflation concerns" instead drove a decline. He said
"growth won't cause inflation," accused policymakers of suppressing growth when
the economy improves, and warned that if that approach continues the US cannot
achieve full economic prosperity. He claimed US GDP could be 15–20% rather than
the current 2–4% range. Trump argued the US should maintain the world's lowest
interest rates because it powers the global economy and helps other countries,
saying each 1 percentage-point rate rise costs the US about $650bn per year and
that lower rates would ease the debt burden.
