China Index Academy reported that in August, with graduation-season leasing demand nearing its end, the national housing rental market cooled from July. The 50-city average rent continued to rise, but month-on-month gains narrowed significantly. Shanghai and Shenzhen pushed first-tier city rents higher, and Shanghai's MoM increase ranked first among the 50 cities for a fifth consecutive month.
