At 01:32 on Sept 5 the Jiangxi Provincial Hydrological Monitoring Center upgraded and issued an orange flood warning. Due to heavy rainfall, the Gan River at Ji'an urban section is expected to exceed the warning level by about 2.7 m in roughly 13 hours; Xiajiang County river section remains rising and is currently 0.23 m above the warning level; Zhangshu urban section flow is increasing at about 13,800 m3/s; Nanchang urban section flow is increasing at about 12,800 m3/s.
