Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said a US escort operation in the Strait of Hormuz was frustrated. Kpler ship-tracking data from late August shows LNG carrier Al Ghashmiyah, which had been using a US-backed 'southern corridor' route, cancelled plans to transit the Strait. Kpler recorded Al Ghashmiyah and four other vessels loaded at Qatar's Ras Laffan heading east toward the Strait; Al Ghashmiyah did not continue to Qatar and diverted to Fujairah, UAE.

Iranian state media reports an Iranian military commander warned that if the U.S. continues to "harass" Iranian vessels, the scope of attacks may widen.
