A UN expert group drafting guidance on lethal autonomous weapon systems (LAWS) concluded in a report, Nikkei reports, that responsibility for the use of LAWS rests with states and individuals. Sources familiar with the meeting confirmed existing international humanitarian law would apply. The report is non‑binding but is expected to provide the basis for future regulatory discussions.
