Tasnim News Agency reported Iraq’s prime minister’s security adviser Qasim al-Araji said the US will withdraw its air-defence systems and remaining forces from the Iraqi Kurdish region before end-September. He said the US is fully prepared to withdraw under the agreement within the deadline, and US plans reportedly include relocating the systems to Jordan, the UK and Cyprus.

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said earlier it publicly released for the first time previously undisclosed surveillance footage and videos of operations against vessels it described as violating rules. The IRGC said its naval forces took decisive action and established effective control in the Strait of Hormuz, warned any suspicious activity would be targeted, and called the United States the region's biggest threat to security and maritime trade, saying U.S. claims of support and escorting are lies.

OPEC+ held a virtual meeting on Sept. 6, 2026 to review global market conditions. Seven member countries agreed to keep October oil production unchanged and reiterated their collective commitment to fully comply with the Declaration of Cooperation. The next meeting is scheduled for Oct. 4, 2026.
