Sept 8, 2026 — China convened its national consumer goods industry forum in
Shijiazhuang, Hebei, to set sector priorities. The meeting urged measures to
secure steady growth, called for full implementation of the 15th Five‑Year Plan
for light textiles, biomanufacturing and pharmaceuticals, and instructed
formulation and implementation of industry policies for chemical fiber,
papermaking, dairy, sugar and salt. It also mandated tighter industry operation
scheduling and measures to accelerate smart, green and integrated upgrades
across consumer goods manufacturing.
