UK prime minister held a phone call with US President Trump today, covering the economy, Ukraine and the Middle East. The prime minister congratulated Trump on recent US jobs data and said the UK economy is showing signs of positive growth. On Ukraine, the leaders agreed to continue efforts to secure a ceasefire to avoid further casualties; the prime minister reiterated support for Ukraine and recent US-led peace talks. On the Middle East, the prime minister said the UK is committed to regional peace and security, called for implementing a two-state solution, the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, and stressed that Iran must never acquire nuclear weapons.
