The facility is operating at full capacity and all planned output has been pre-booked. 2nm yield has improved from about 60% earlier this year to roughly 80% recently, supporting mass production slated for next year.

Daiwa Securities strategist Kenta Tadaide said economic fundamentals remain the key driver for USD/JPY. With US inflation data due this week and Fed and Bank of Japan policy meetings next week, an acceleration in US inflation that prompts the Fed toward tighter policy would likely support the dollar, while rising market bets on further BOJ tightening would intensify upside pressure on the yen.
