China's National Bureau of Statistics said on a MoM basis in August fresh
vegetable prices rose 5.5% (widening 4.2 ppt from July) after hot, rainy weather
and seasonal replanting; egg prices swung from -2.1% to +2.4% MoM as summer
laying-hen downtime reduced supply; pork rose 1.3% MoM amid fewer hog
slaughters. The three items together pushed CPI MoM up about 0.12 percentage
point.
