The National Bureau of Statistics said China’s CPI rose 0.8% YoY, 0.3 percentage
points higher than last month, mainly due to larger energy price increases.
Energy inflation rose from 0.6% to 4.1%, adding about 0.28 percentage points to
CPI YoY—roughly 0.24 ppt more than the prior month. Gasoline prices jumped 9.3%,
with the rise widening 8.3 ppt.
