Canada’s energy minister said oil sands producers now have the federal policy
support needed to raise output to fill capacity on a major new pipeline. Ottawa
on Wednesday unveiled plans to eliminate federal environmental reviews for
energy projects, including oil and gas pipelines, gas plants and oil sands
projects — the latest step in the past year to bolster energy production and
speed regulatory approvals.
