At the Republican National Convention opening night, Trump reiterated that "as
long as I'm running, Republicans always do very well. We won the presidential
election three times," and again asserted he won the 2020 election despite
losing both the popular vote and the Electoral College to Biden. Allegations of
voting-machine fraud, illegal mailed ballots and manipulated swing-state counts
were dismissed, and then-Attorney General William Barr said the DOJ found no
fraud sufficient to alter the result.
