China domestic futures closed mixed in the morning session. Benzene hit the daily limit; SC crude and styrene (EB) rose over 5%; propylene and fuel oil gained more than 3%; plastics (monthly avg), asphalt, paraxylene (PX) and polypropylene (monthly avg) were up over 2.5%. On the downside, rapeseed oil fell more than 2%; palm oil, synthetic rubber, peanuts, live hogs, coke, pulp, rapeseed meal, red dates and manganese-silicon declined over 1%.

Japan's net purchases of foreign equities in the week to Sept. 4 were -¥481.6bn, versus +¥35.8bn in the prior week.

Reportedly, TSMC is accelerating construction of a 1.4nm fab at the Central Taiwan Science Park. The first P1 plant is expected to begin trial runs in April next year, and volume production is now anticipated in H2 2027, ahead of an earlier 2028 target. Two temporary on-site offices are being installed for April completion, with an initial intake of over 5,400 operations and outsourced staff, sources said.
