The first batch of eight Beijing Stock Exchange (BSE) three-month holding-period thematic funds is expected to begin issuance next week. Issuers will set fundraising caps and fund houses’ sales teams are preparing distribution materials. Public mutual funds have already built a matrix of dozens of active and passive BSE products; active equity funds have posted peak returns exceeding 100% since inception.

The Israel Geological Survey said on the 8th it has laid a 55 km fiber-optic cable on the Dead Sea floor dedicated to earthquake monitoring. The cable runs in a zigzag route across the northern basin. The project uses distributed acoustic sensing (DAS) to detect micro-vibrations and displacements along the fiber, effectively turning the line into a large-scale seismic sensor network.
