PBOC Deputy Governor Lu Lei told a State Council news briefing on Sept. 10 that during the 15th Five-Year Plan period the central bank will support healthy offshore RMB market development, optimise the RMB clearing bank network and build multi-tier, cross-maturity liquidity-supply mechanisms to keep offshore RMB liquidity ample and stable. He said the PBOC will normalise issuance of government bonds and central bank bills to broaden the supply of high-grade RMB assets.
