Israel’s finance ministry chief economist said GDP growth is now expected to
exceed prior forecasts, driven largely by revenue from NVIDIA’s large R&D centre
in the country. The so‑called “NVIDIA effect” has prompted upward GDP revisions
over the past two years and is expected to deliver a similar boost this year.
The economist projects annual growth above 4% this year, versus prior official
forecasts and an analysts’ survey median of 3.6%; GDP expanded 3.2% in 1H.
