EIA weekly natural gas report: U.S. working gas in storage 3,254 Bcf for the week ended Sept. 4, a 40 Bcf build from the prior week; 79 Bcf below year-ago (-2.4%) and 148 Bcf above the five-year average (+4.8%).

China A-share grain sector pulled back; COFCO Sugar hit the daily limit-down, Yasheng Group and Xinsai approached limit-down. Nongfa Seed, Wanxiang Denong, Hainan Rubber, Shennong Seed and Denghai Seed also declined.

Chinese authorities will temporarily suspend construction of new domestic power and energy-storage battery projects pending a year-end capacity-utilization assessment. Relevant departments will start a nationwide capacity and utilization audit at end-2025. From mid-May 2026, new-build power and storage battery projects are paused; lithium-ion projects that secured required environmental and energy approvals before mid-May 2026 are exempt. By end-2026, firms with higher capacity utilization will be eligible for approval to proceed with the next phase of battery construction.
