On Sept 11, China said President Xi will attend the 18th BRICS leaders' summit, deliver a major speech and propose initiatives on the international situation, BRICS institutional development and deeper practical cooperation to steer high-quality development of a 'Greater BRICS'. China said it will actively participate and work with BRICS partners to support stable, long-term cooperation.

A-share indices opened lower and slid into the midday break: Shanghai Composite -1.82%, Shenzhen Component -2.34%, ChiNext -2.04%, Beijing Stock Exchange 50 -3.52%, STAR/Sci‑Tech Innovation 50 -2.99%. Turnover across Shanghai and Shenzhen reached CNY1.27 tln, up CNY183.3 bln vs the prior session. Power names outperformed: Mindong Power posted a third straight daily limit-up; Jiangsu New Energy and Hangzhou Thermal Power hit up-limits. Defense equipment showed pockets of strength, with Guangdian Co. and Neimeng Yiji on up-limits. Precious metals plunged: Xingye Silver‑Tin hit an intraday limit-down; Hunan Silver, Zhuzhou Smelter Group, Zijin Mining, Xiaocheng Technology and Western Gold dropped sharply. Diversified financials weakened, Xinli Financial and Cuiwei Co. down more than 8.5%.
